Putting more emphasis on the forums(I miss the old days)

Postby Dimmuburger » Fri Aug 10, 2012 5:44 am

I joined these forums four years ago next week. Back then we were almost like an online family. You could log on everyday and there would be a plethora of new posts from other people with similar interests. As time went on we would develop our own personae. It was just a lot of fun. I wish there was something we could do at the upcoming con to boost traffic

But then suddenly everything changed.

The Island was removed and people stopped coming to the forum. I miss the old days.

Does anyone else?

Things usually slow to a crawl during the summer after the con. It will pick up soon enough as the event draws closer.

If you are wanting to do some social networking I would be happy to help you set up a Facebook page. However, the purpose of these forums is to help get information out about the convention. :3

There's an UNOFFICIAL FB group here. Staff has NOTHING to do with it whatsoever, it is completely FAN RUN.

Sad but true fact is that in today's ADD generation anime has lost a lot of steam. Especially in the distributing industry here in America. Everyone watches anime and reads manga for free online. There also seems to be alot more disinterest in Japan than in the HOT 90's.

I always knew that the 90's stuff would come back. And that why I have a storage unit full of VHS's.

also

with marzipans Raddish we're gonna win the competition!

I've been dying to say that for like six years.

I had an entire conversation with a friend about this. Anime has become less of a super niche and more mainstream over the last few years, thus it's made more available to the public (especially online) and it's not as hyped up I think. Which could be a good thing too, since now it's more common to ask a person if they like or watch anime and not get weird looks back!
