Wig and Costume Tutorials!

Right now i need help figuring out what i could use for the bone/armor and horns for Houndoom, They have to be sturdy and sorta light weight.
For all the hugs i'll be giveing!

hello again ppls! so a bit of an update, I found the right color wig ^^ and the sword is currantly a work in progress that I had to put off for now due to school >> but now I need some more advice. I was going to try and make halibel's mask (the whole thing if I can) but I'm not sure on what to make it ouy of =/ any ideas?

Can I ask a question? What do you guys do about your eyebrows to make them match your wig?

The method a couple of my friends and I use is one my sister kinda helped me think of. XD You get chapstick, goes on clear if possible you don't want some odd color, and put it on your eyebrows putting a fair amount on. Than take eyeshadow in the color you want and put it over your chapsticked eyebrows and tada. =3 It works for us.

I'm trying to figure out how to make Char Aznable's helmet, and maybe his cape. I'm not sure how familiar people are with Char, but his helmet close enough to Darth Vader's helmet that if I knew how to make or acquire that, then I could easily make it look like Char's.

I've never sewn a costume before, so I've been relying on hot glue for what I've done so far, but I really have no idea.

What are some cool halloween costume ideas that dont have to be bought? I dont want to spend any money on a costume this year so something that would involve everyday clothing items would be great. Solo costumes or group costume ideas are great. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone have any idea about making something out of Chinese-y silky materials? I'm cosplaying China, but I don't have the actual top yet, just a generic Chinese top. I'd like to make it, but I don't know how difficult that would be.

If you don't have access to a surger then use a rolled hem or french seam. Brocade unravels like a fiend and can be miserable to work with on that front. Be careful you also don't end up using something to shiny, shiny on something that doesn't obviously call for it often can make a costume look cheap under con lighting and flash photography, no matter how well made.

Honestly I think a nice cotton would not only be more accurate but would look better.

Yeah, I think that's what I'll do. He doesn't seem to wear anything that looks shiny, now that I think about it. It's just implied with the Chinese.

Hello I'm trying to put together a Genkai http://media.photobucket.com/image/genk ... i.jpg?o=43 from yu yu hakusho. Does anyone have any suggestions for the red shirt, and the hat?

The shirt is pretty simple... it's pretty much a dress that doesn't connect at the sides so you could probably go get a dress from a good will and just cut the sides open and use that as a pattern of sorts.
The hat? maybe take a normal baseball cap, and use that sorta as a pattern, the sides that roll up? Extra fabric and interfacing.
