ARTIST ALLEY 2014 - PLEASE READ

Postby BobGuy » Wed Oct 30, 2013 9:42 am

ARTIST ALLEY NEWS:

We're moving the alley! That's right, we're testing out an event space for Artists' Alley. This means we must raise the pricing on tables BUT we'll also be adding more tables so more artists can be accommodated. Full tables will be $110 and Half tables will be $55. Per usual, Full tables are 8 ft. across and Half tables are 4 ft. Artists/Studios may now reserve up to 2 Full tables.

This is a locked room space. Artists Alley will be closed at 10:00pm.

The application process will be the same. Look to the second week of the new year for the application. Please check http://www.animazement.com/artists-alley/ for more information.

We hope that you share this news with all your artist friends!

For this to work, please tell any artists that you know who might not know about us or artists from previous years who have forgotten about us. We really need some more interested artists to fill the tables and make this work out.

Really late replying to this but I've got a few questions because I've never tried for AA before given the limited space they've had before now.

1. About how many tables are going to be available for 2014?
2. If you apply, around when can you expect acceptance/refusal notifications?
3. If you get accepted, do you have to pay immediately or is there a deadline?

Sorry for the basic questions but I couldn't find the information on the artist alley page.

double00beaver: Normally there has been a week or two buffer in between letting folks know they got accepted with getting people to pay for the table. So once you get emailed, you have about a week or so to pay.

Since they're saying applications go out in the beginning of January, expect to hear back by late February or early March. AA staff can correct me on this, since this is what I know from how it worked this past year :)

Hope that helped!

The site says applications open second week of Jan. Any idea of when during the second week or do I need to stay up until midnight since technically tomorrow is the first day of that second week? Thanks!

Technically it should be up today. It'll probably be up sometime later today or tomorrow, for sure! Hope that helped :)

[First of all, I typed this out last night but forgot to post. Sleepy Bob.]

Honestly, my partner deals with most of that so I'm asking her now.

I do know you won't have to stay up til midnight (it's not first come first serve) and I doubt she meant it as a strict "Sunday being the first day of the week." But like I said, I'll confirm as I know

The applications are working today! I already applied. The form is super short this year! I hope that's a good thing XP

I'm trying to submit my application but every time I do I get this error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_plugins() in /home3/animaze/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/common.php on line 1761

Any idea what the problem is? Is this happening for anybody else? Thanks! :o

EDIT!~ I waited a few hours and tried again and it went through just fine! :)

Good to know it's fine now. Hopefully it was just a random down period or glitch. If anyone else has this problem, let us know.

Yeah, I'm getting the same error as well.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_plugins() in /home3/animaze/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gravityforms/common.php on line 1761

I've waited, tried again and still got it. The other frustrating thing is that when I went to go to the contact page to let the AA coordinator know or even the Webmaster I get a message saying, "Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed." Yeahhh. . . . my confidence level is not raising at all with this =(

I've notified the webmaster and hopefully this will get resolved ASAP. I apologize for the problem. Just know, we'll make sure you all have a chance to get your applications in, and it's not first come first serve so don't stress over the delay.

Thank you.

Oh wow, I didn't know there was an error going on! I hope everyone gets their applications in! :O

I know the AA staff will make sure everyone's submission comes through, since we need as many folks as we can to make this larger setup happen and be awesome! *roots for staff with pompoms*

UPDATE:
The problem should be fixed now. And I was informed that the applications went through but the confirmation page was running an error. So anyone who got the error, your application still went through.

Heh I know you said this was fixed, but I wanted to let you know I just got the error right now. But it sounds like apps are still going through, so this is really more of a heads up than a "what's going on with my application" post. I'm going to assume everything is hunky dory. ;D
i suck.
