Question about when registration opens

We noticed that the website lists registration opening at 12am on January 8th. We are assuming that is midnight going into the 8th. We have been watching for the application to load since midnight for over 30 minutes and have not seen it appear. Is it not midnight or is it on midnight going into the 9th?

Please confirm.

I didn't get any sort of email confirmation after submitting though, so hopefully it worked!

there was a code issue where the confirmation emails weren't sent out but it's fixed now.
