Running a Panel

Do you have to be a certain age to run a panel? Like a family appropriate one, nkt an 18+ one.

As far as I can tell the only certainties are if you have a solid idea and submit it when they open up the application process. Granted, I was well over 18 when I started doing panels but I don't remember age being part of the panel submission page.

First and foremost make absolutely sure you have enough material to fill and hour. Research everything you can; leave no aspect of your panel topic to chance, know it all. My initial panel ran out at about 35 minutes. Needless to say the people there were less than satisfied. Always have something to talk about. Try speaking in front of a few friends or even just alone. This greatly helps with time management, as do timers. You can also start a thread about your panel idea to see what kind of comments people will leave and how much interest there is in your concept.
