Formal Dance

Postby BobD » Thu Mar 07, 2013 12:12 pm

Animazement is pleased to announce it's first Formal Dance. You folks have asked for this and been very patient. This is still a work in progress as we get it all together. From music to attire to other related aspects we will let you know here. At this time we are looking at Friday night for the big event so get the kimonos out of the closet and start brushing up on those slow dance moves to impress that special someone. Eric Hahn (Piperhahn) will be providing the music for this event and I am sure he will welcome your input and we welcome any suggestions you might have to make this event more meaningful.

This could be either insanely awesome or high school prom awkward. Either way I'm bringing a dress.

Would fancy Lolita be acceptable under the dress code?

Hey there Gang. Sorry it took me a while to check in here, but I wanted to introduce myself and try to make this the best formal dance we can.

I am fully expecting a mix of Totally awesome and slightly awkward, because I understand our age range covers a large span of expectations and experience.. I am here to find out from you what sort of music you're interested in. I'm taking requests early here so we can figure out exactly how to exceed the expectations of our attendees. So let me have it... I'm all ears.

I think it'd be fun to have either ballroom dancing music or fun upbeat dance music! Something a bit classier from the prom music we all had to put up with in high school XD

Seconded. :3 My school always calls our dances "balls" but I don't think Nikki Minaj or Katie Parry songs are played at actual events under that name.

So how formal are we talking here? Prom "formal" or string quartet ballroom formal?

Nobuo Uematsu and Joe Hisaishi are some top notch composers that I would love to hear at the ball. :3

Shenangan - I don't see how formal Lolita could not be allowed. It's not short or tasteless. <3 Granted, I'm not staff, but I would wager ALL formal cosplays will be permitted.

A mix of instrumental and slow songs. But not necessarily love songs! Just ones that move at a slow pace.

Seconded, I can't see how Uematsu couldn't be in the rotation.
