In Theaters Now... Anime!!

It's always great to watch anime with others so I wanted to start a topic for whenever there's an anime playing in the movie theaters .

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos is showing in 3 cities in NC. They are Raleigh starting the 1/23-1/26, Greensboro starting today the 1/20-1/26, and Wilmington for 1 day the 1/22.

Sadly, South Carolina always seems to get overlooked. However, when I took my daughter and wife to see Beauty and the Beast 3D last week I was delighted to see a huge poster in the lobby of our theater for The Secret World of Arrietty coming out on February 17th. You can bet I'll be seeing that.

This is the first I've heard of this movie. Looking forward to trying to go watch it if it gets a wide enough of a release. I rarely watch movies in theaters.

This is the first I've heard of this movie. Looking forward to trying to go watch it if it gets a wide enough of a release. I rarely watch movies in theaters.

The source material, The Borrowers, is more well known in the states than most of the other Ghibli releases. I think Disney is hinging a wide release on that fact. And yes, while Ponyo, (The Little Mermaid) was well known, it's look and the fact that Disney had already visited that story doomed it to a more concealed release.

I really hope it does very well here if they do a wide release. I guess we'll find out soon when it starts showing up in theaters schedules.

THIS. I saw this when I went with my sister to see Beauty and the Beast 3D, the movie looks so interesting I can't wait.

Arrietty is a decent film (I have the R2J dvd). The UK dub sounds decent too (2 completely different dubs). I just hope that the Disney dub is good (I liked Ponyo's dub) and I will see it in theaters.

I saw a trailer for it, I believe in one of the dollar-fifty theaters recently. Super excited!

Some more good news for those who would like to see the Madoka Magica movies. There will be a showing in Greensboro N.C. on Jan. 5. There's already a posting under "Anime, Manga and Nippon, Oh My!" about a showing in Raleigh for those who would like info on that showing.

Another film to look out for is Wolf Children. So far there are not any theater listing for this one just a few showings at festivals, but there are plans for it to be released in theaters most likely limited release.
