Re: Anime/Manga RecommendationsI told my friend to watch elfen lied.
He didn't want to so I showed him the part where they kick the dog.
Re: Anime/Manga RecommendationsI must be the only person on the planet who doesn't like Elfen Lied. I can't stand that series at all.
If you are in the mood for old schooll goodness, then I recommend Nadesico. It's got it all: sci-fi, space battles, comedy, love, tragedy, references to even older anime, a kickin opener (that works with the Eva opener to the point that it's scary).
Re: Anime/Manga RecommendationsI really want to reread +Anima now...

Can you share some of your favorite past titles? It would give us a better idea as to what direction you lean in regard to your tastes. ![]() That is so my life right now.
Re: Anime/Manga Recommendations
I thought that the dubbed version of Baccano! was better than the sub (there's just something right about watching an anime set in America in English) and you can watch it (legally!) here!
Re: Anime/Manga Recommendationsmy friends have gotten me addicted to High School of the Dead /(-3-)\ lol I actually think all the fanservice and ecchi shots are quite funny =p

Re: Anime/Manga RecommendationsI'm trying to find a really good anime to watch that doesn't fall under ever single anime stereotype out there. I feel as if I'm just watching the same thing over and over again, and I can always predict the outcome. There have only been two anime series which haven't done that for me, so I'm looking for something really good to watch. Any suggestions?

Re: Anime/Manga Recommendations@Oglop: Well, what were those two anime series you mentioned? I'll give it a shot but it's rather hard to suggest something if we don't know you're tastes.
Re: Anime/Manga RecommendationsJust wanted to say how amazingly fantastic Toradora! was.
I just finished watching it.
Re: Anime/Manga Recommendations
Hetalia and Code Geass were the two. Neither of them seem to have to stereotypes that so often occur in anime (or at least, not as many of them, and they're not as predictable). Re: Anime/Manga RecommendationsAs far as dubbed anime goes, it's hard to recommend without knowing what you enjoy. I could recommend Kite (which has one of the best dubs EVER created, imo), but it's definitely not for everyone. Nor for anyone under 18 (lots of swearing).
Re: Anime/Manga Recommendationsthanks for the recommendations! I'll look into Kite. Some of my favorites are Monster, Code Geass, Pandora Hearts, Kuroshitsuji, and anything by Kaori Yuki (well, that's just manga, but anyway). I'm more interested in characters than plot (if that makes any sense) but a refreshing plot is always nice too.

Re: Anime/Manga RecommendationsAs I said, Kite is NOT for children at all. The dub is VERY language filled...yet sounds like film to me (strong R for language alone). There are 3 different versions out there (2 filled with very hardcore sex, 1 that even has some underage scenes in it), so if you are under the age of 18, I do not recommend any version other then the original edited version (without any of the sex at all). But, as I keep saying, you have been warned.
Re: Anime/Manga Recommendations
Sorry to take so long to get back to you but I was at a bit of a loss to suggest. If you liked Hetalia my best suggestion would be to look up some other oddball commidites (I don't watch many myself so I don't have many recommendations, although Bludgeoning Angel Dokuro-chan was pretty funny) and if you liked the over-the-top moments in Code Geass then you might like Gurren Laggan and Star Driver (which is a bit like if you mixed CG and TTGL together actually). Both are mech shows but they are pretty fun ones to watch
