I'm out of the loop, help me catch up in time!

Hey everyone!

So it's been about 2 years since I really got a chance to keep up with all the new mangas and animes being released and becoming popular. I've managed to catch a few here and there but honestly I'm a bit lost. I was wondering if I could get some recommendations of the sort that I for sure need to know because a lot of other people will probably be talking about them. Feel free to look through my anime and manga list by clicking my signature to see what I have. The only big ones I know for sure right now that I have to catch up on are Madoka and Steins Gate, any other recommendations?

Thanks!

Oh gosh, if you get any good ones let me know! I've been out of the loop for about 3 years now, so don't feel bad! It feels strange not knowing all the latest anime/manga anymore :\

I recommend Another if you like a good scary anime, and if you like supernatural action I recommend Ao No Exorcist. BOTH very wonderful! And if you like funny slice of life kinds, like Lucky Star or Azumanga Daioh, Nichijou is phenomenal. It cracks me up!!! xD

I become lost on the animal trail without a way back...It was a dream that I had somewhere, a deja vu that I recall.....

I would recommend the Anime/Manga Recommendations thread in this section of the forum.

You didn't miss anything.

There's a new Miyazaki movie. High school of the dead is pretty big right now.
But everybody's still into that homestuck, hetalia, black butler and all of that vampire crap.

Madoka seemed pretty big in the whole "community", and I agree with Morticon you should watch Another it was awesome.

Same boat here, the last anime I really watched was Madoka and the Black Lagoon Roberta's Blood Trail OVAs. I hear a lot about Sword Art Online and Stein's Gate too, so they seem to be worth a look.

Then there are always the classics to catch up on too. Never did watch all of Ranma 1/2 or Fist of the North Star.
AZ 2014: Gambit (X-treme X-men), Kirito (Sword Art Online), other costumes TBD
