I'm making my first costume ever and I need help. This will be my second year going to a convention and I want to go as Princess Zelda but have no idea where to get a pattern for her dress. Plus I would like to make her armor shoulder pads and headband. So any help would be very helpful!!!!!

Hey! Umm...I'm really good at make-up and I've been thinking about doing some tutorials on make-up for certain characters.
Would anyone be interested? (If this is the wrong place then I'm sorry! )

Here: http://www.fm-anime.com I love their wigs. Just keep in mind that you'll probably have to style them a bit, depending on the wig that you order.

Does anyone know of a way I could make one of my eyes stay closed comfortably under bandages? All the ways I've tried either result in me getting fabric fuzzies in my eye, twitching constantly, or looking completely out of it on the uncovered side of my face. I was thinking of putting a strip of medical tape over my eyelid to keep it down, but I was thinking it might rip out eyelashes/still make me look out of it.

I was working on my N. Italy costume the other day, and found out an easy way to make ahoges for wigs, if anybody needs it.
Equipment: Hot glue, paper clips, and extensions/etc. the same color as your wig
1. Bend the paper clips so that they make the ahoge's shape when placed together. Where the ahoge meets the rest of the hair, the paper clip should be bent at an angle, making a short line parallel to your head.
2. Use hot glue to stick the paper clips together to form the foundation for the ahoge.
3. Cut the extensions/etc. so that they are approximately the same length as the paper clips. They can be shorter, but that may make the ahoge look scraggly.
4. Hot-glue the extensions to the paper clips. Start on one end and work your way to the other. When holding the hair to the glue, don't press too hard or you may burn yourself/get glue in the hair. Make sure the paper clips aren't exposed.
5. Trim off the excess.
6. Part the wig and stick the short bent piece of the paper clip strand through the netting. Hot-glue it there from the inside.
7. Try the wig on. If the ahoge is floppy, try bending it downwards and glue the part of it that's resting against the wig onto the outside.

There was an old post where someone asked for help with hidden zippers. I needed one last year and decided to just hire a tailor to put it into my shirt. It was only like $10 and it was definitely worth it to avoid the hassle of sewing it myself and risking doing it incorrectly, as someone with no zipper experience.
And that goes with anything you find difficult. Don't forget that there are tailors out there that really don't cost much for particular tasks like that.

Does anyone know how to turn a jean zipper (one with a stop at the end) to a seperated zipper? I was in a hurry when I bought it and now I already have it sewed on and I'd rather play with it then buy a new one.

Does anyone have a tutorial for boot covers? Also, when i make them, what fabric should I use? I was thinking maybe felt, but the character's boots are shiny and leather-y, so idk... Thanks already!

I was wondering if anyone knew the best way to make a big squishy pillow like thing I could get inside of and walk around with comfortably or could link me to a tutorial that would teach me? Sort of like the Toad/Goomba/Shy Guy that were at the con this year? I don't really know what to google to find how to describe it xD

Try googling "how to make a mascot costume" or search the threads on cosplay.com for that, the people over there have plenty of experience with it.
