AZ 2011 Dance RulesNot really "rules" per say, but a list of things that are NOT allowed at the dance this year.
The following rules are being enforced at the dance: - No laser or LED pointers or lights; - No bubbles; - NO Conga or train lines; - No Kandi bead jewelry exchange at the dance; - and shoes must be worn at all times. Along with pants/shorts/skirts, underwear, and tops for everyone. There will be printed signs hanging on the doors and in the room. Now that being said, laser/LED pointers are different than stationary LED lights. This I know, and I am getting an answer on things such as LED gloves, costumes, etc. But everything else WILL be enforced. We just want you guys to have a good time, and not hurt anyone or be hurt. Edit: Official ruling on LEDs/Kandi - The ban is on the pointers and uber bright hand held lights. Other LEDs, such as in gloves/bracelets/etc, are allowed. Kandi trades not allowed in dance, but they are allowed elsewhere. So step out of the dance to trade. Kandi jewelry is actually a hazard - the strings break and the beads go everywhere and people slip and fall. And the beads damage the floor when stepped on. Re: AZ 2011 Dance RulesWell I guess I left my Kandi soaking in anthrax for nothing.
Re: AZ 2011 Dance RulesI saw this post on the facebook group. As I stated there, I believe that banning Kandi trades is going to cause more confusion than caution. Most people that attend Animazement probably have no idea that kandi trades even exist. By posting a giant sign at the entrance to the dance all the staff will be accomplishing is to alert approximately 7000 people to the existence of that particular aspect of rave culture, an aspect that, to someone that does not know much about rave culture, seems very harmless indeed. In alerting these people of the existence of kandi trades, there will be MUCH more talk of kandi than there would be otherwise, therefore bringing the exact OPPOSITE effect to the dance as the staff wants.
I understand that Animazement wants to retain its reputation as a family-friendly place, and that is great! I just think that this one rule and proclaimed action (the posting of the kandi rule on a sign outside the door) is going to be VERY counterproductive, and appear confusing and stingy to most con-goers. I believe that the key to keeping out the people who want to sneak into Animazement just for the dances is to do exactly what has been done since '05 and the original incident: call it a dance, not a rave, and encourage others to do so as well.
Re: AZ 2011 Dance Rules
Really wish tops were enforced for both genders. I'd rather not be dancing and have some sweaty shirtless guy practically against me in the crowd. Eh, call me uptight or whatever, but just kinda squicks me out to even think of it.
Re: AZ 2011 Dance RulesPeep the top for added info!
Beaver- you wish is my command.
Re: AZ 2011 Dance RulesNow thats more like it!
Re: AZ 2011 Dance Rulesomg the mens are required to keep their shirts on?! That would be lovely
I bought me some dollar store glow sticks so I think they won't be too bright. I CANNOT WAIT TO DANCE!
Re: AZ 2011 Dance Rules
Well, it would be discriminatory if the rule didn't extend to everyone. Follow your grape to righteousness.
Re: AZ 2011 Dance RulesThank you so much!
Re: AZ 2011 Dance Rules

Re: AZ 2011 Dance RulesYes, I wrote all of that while at work and in convo with Kaji and should have originally extended it out to all have to wear shirts.

My dad showed it to me when I was little. Epic movie is epic.
Re: AZ 2011 Dance RulesIf somebody's noticably drunk could you get rid of them? Theres nothing i hate more than a drunk twelve year old in hot topic clothes at a "rave".
Re: AZ 2011 Dance RulesIn the spirit of fairness and equality . . . I propose that no shirts are no problem. Both genders. Gotta maintain equality and all.
