A History of Anime ACCEPTEDAnime and manga are awesome. We all know it. But have you ever wondered where it all came from? The first manga? First OVA? The first tankoubon? My panel will answer those questions and more. A timeline of Japanese visual culture stretching from before the God of Manga(Tezuka Osamu) through the 80's and on to today. Learn where the genres came from and how the industry came to be.

Re: A History of Anime and MangaGo for it! I'd be there.
Re: A History of Anime and MangaIt is a history lesson but I have some really neat stuff to tell. For instance manga has it oldest roots in captioned wood block prints collected into books. And Suginami ward in Tokyo is known as Anime Town due to the number of animation studios and an anime museum. Oh it will be fun indeed in my panel.
Re: A History of Anime and MangaI would go to this.
I only know the very basics, like the wood block print and the main figures.Having trouble styling your wig for your next cosplay? Well, you're in luck! Head on over to Erin's Wigs and check it out!

Re: A History of Anime and MangaAfter a bit more research I learned that the book thing didn't happen until the 18th century, the first recognizable manga images are from the 11th.
Remember kids, always research twice(or more) and write once!
Huzza! My panel didn't totally suck! It was however far too short. I apologize for that. But cut me some slack, it was my first panel. Next year I will have extended the content with more information and sample videos. Look forward to it!
A Brief History of AnimeUnlike last year, this year the submitted panel is only about the history of Anime. Also unlike last year the amount of content is much higher with openings and sample videos, not just pictures.
And I will use the whole hour this time, not just 35 min.
Re: A History of Anime and MangaSounds good

Re: A History of Anime ACCEPTEDOnce again it is time, to reach back into the mists of...well, time. After much hard work (and even harder research), we are pleased to say that the History of Anime panel has been accepted. We look forward to seeing you there.
