Whoops, I submitted this panel before making a forum topic.

Chances you've heard of them as So Nyuh Shi Dae (SNSD), Shoujo Jidai or Girls' Generation but you probably know that they're one of the most popular girl groups in Korea and now Japan!

We'll probably discuss their music, how much we love the 9 girls, watch some videos and have some trivia! I'm hoping to have some prizes like photocards for trivia!

Anyone interested in coming to this? (and also as a bonus do you have a favorite member? C:)

The most fun part about it, I'm now supposed to be doing Mr.Taxi for Karaoke thanks to a promise I made a friend.... anyone want to help out. then again, Im one of the only guys I know who can actually do a good portion of the dance from the MV for it....

yes, but SNSD (Girls Generation) has Japanese and Thai versions of their music as well.... most Kpop artists have multiple releases.....

^ This. Girls Generation is actually very popular in Japan! To my knowledge they've topped the Oricon charts on multiple occasions and they had the Japanese tour broadcast on national television!

But I've ordered some photo/star cards to give away! Hopefully I can bring some of my Soshi merchandise to the panel!

I would totally try to go to this!! They have Japanese music now too so I think it totally fits even if they are a Korean band ;D It would be fun to have it just end in a dance party

They released the James Bond films in Japanese as well, but that doesn't make them Japanese. Granted we have had that James Bond in the past, but still.

Then again, if the Ponies panels pass, this should as well, imo.

Well, they were promoting heavily in Japan and created some original Japanese songs so I would say they tie in!

And hey, looks like we may be getting a Homestuck panel, too!

But I'm hoping to get some posters to give. I've also been trying to get some photocards on eBay but eBay SONEs are insane...

Also I wouldn't mind it turning into a dance party haha! There were some awesome dancers at the panel at Ichibancon. I wish I knew who they were. I think I had a video of them dancing to Bad Girl. But they were awesome! I have to say that I'm slightly jealous because I can't dance at all!

A lot of these K-Pop bands are quickly becoming huge (if not already) in Japan..but you're right I kinda wish Animazement would broaden their love for a bit of Korean Pop Culture as well...it's so amazing..or even another convention that supported Korean culture as much as Japanese. But I digress.

I agree. I don't really understand why conventions don't really broaden. This is an anime convention and anime isn't just limited to Japan. There are other countries that have their own version of anime and manga. Korea for example. I just think when it comes to fan panels and stuff, it shouldn't be limited to just Japanese culture, anime and such. At least expand to all Asian countries in general.
