The proposal was so cute! It was amazing that the audience cheered so loudly and stood and clapped so enthusiastically. The two who got engaged are such nice people and make a wonderful couple. Miku, yes, it was real! You didn't really have to know anything about The Legend of Zelda because he really was proposing to her.

Hello,

I was Yuuske, the host of the event. Yes the proposal was real. The Link contacted us to see if it was alright so we had to instruct our chess masters not to kill them. (Until after the proposal anyway). Congrats to them both. I know a lot of people weren't sure it was real and he was obviously very nervous.

Also thank you to everyone who made it out to the event, you guys were all great. >__< We've never had that many no shows before and it really threw us for a loop between that and the redefined time slot and space due to the concert.

Also I'm really glad I decided to come early. I had no idea if I had made it because I thought the results would be online. I'm glad I managed to come when you needed me though. I had a lot of fun, I was honored to even be an Alternate!

We will be posting a cosplay chess video and promotional to youtube and likely for official use by the con now that we are fully recognized as a main event.

I was one of the Mitchbot Minions Co-hosting the event and running around and doing color commentary throughout the match dressed as Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho (with horrible looking hair...) I also was the one who brought you all donuts for having to get up so early on Saturday for the match.

You guys all did a great job this year and made the match a blast for all of us who put the show together! We appreciate your efforts and enthusiasm throughout the match more than anything!
