Crossplaying 101 [Cancelled]

Due to rather frustrating uncertainties with rooming, I can no longer host this panel. I would have loved to do something like this for everyone but it's not going to happen this year. I'm terribly sorry.

I believe that crossplaying is an immensely popular trend among (mostly) female cosplayers. While it's great to be able to cosplay whatever you like, sometimes is a good idea to step back and see what you need to do to make it better. There's always room for improvement.

So, this panel would be in two parts: first half for females; second half for males. I was going to make it just for girls but that wouldn't be fair to any guys that crossplay (while I've never seen any, I'm sure they're still out there).

For both sides, I would discuss what people can do with make-up, posture/mannerisms, clothing, and bodily alterations (what I mean by that is something like binding for females or corsets for males) to make themselves appear more like the gender they are trying to portray.

A couple of things that I would need to discuss I would have to kind of skim over because if I went into detail, this would become a 18+ panel and then I wouldn't even be able to host it. So, this panel wouldn't be extremely in-depth but it would have a good chunk of information.

What do you think? This would also be the first time I would host a panel. I've done plenty of public speaking but I'm still shaky about this so anything that I could do to make this run as smoothly as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if there's anything that might be good to talk about that I didn't mention, I'd like to hear it.

Ooh, I love seeing these kinds of panels. Even though I've been cosplaying for a while there's always something you can learn. It seems like you've put a great bit of thought into what you're going to be talking about, so that's good. Shoot, if you get accepted, I'll definitely attend.

(I did my first panel last year, so I know how you feel. But, once you get up there you'll be fine!)

Other than that, this sounds like it could be fun! I definitely love to crossplay, it's so much more comfortable! This would make a unique take on the Cosplay 101 deal! I'd say go for it If it's accepted I'd love to find out when it is so I can attend!
