Because of the trouble that i know some people go through[including myself] to find tutorials for costumes, i have decided to make this thread. Instead of searching through every single Cosplay thread people can just look and see if someone had posted the tutorial on here, therefore they do not forget which thread someone had posted their needed tutorial in. You can post a tutorial whether or not you made it. Also it does not have to just be costumes. It can be anything that you would use in a costume like props or tutorials about how to style a characters hair to anything you can think someone would get good use out of. You can also request a tutorial if someone has not posted it. Please post the tutorial URL and the name of what the tutorial is.[it does not matter if the name is the link.] With that said i will post the first tutorial ANBU Vest

If you really need a tutorial list go to Cosplay.com's thread, it's got oodles of bunches... http://forums.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=84955
"Man, our Model UN does more than the real UN. The UN would have been like, 'Alright Hitler, no more Blitzkrieg, please?' and Hitler would telegram back 'Kay' because he's too busy invading Poland"

If you want to actually buy the coat try Ebay. If you want to make it, I'd just use regular cotton. Fabric is sold at many craft stores and even Wal-mart... Or you could probably just use an old white bedsheet and get black fabric for the detailing.
Seat 11 (Most truant member) AZ '12 Cosplay: Rolling Girl Miku- 100% Akemi Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magic- 100% (bought) Mastudoki from Yume Nikki- 100% technically, but still adding props Sabitsuki from .flow- 95% Derpy Hooves from MLP:FiM- 50% Things are looking up!

I'm not sure. I've never actually made it before ^^; But you may want to look at some pics of the coat to make sure it would look ok if you were to do it that way...

I'm having a lot of difficulty with my harkonnen (Seras Victoria, Hellsing)--I'm not sure what to use to connect the pvc pipes.
I don't want to have to use power tools, which is probably unavoidable.
I was thinking pipe cement but I don't know if it will be too heavy.

pvc cement works good, its not a very heavy substance *take this knowledge from experience* i use to be a huge star wars fan and would make lightsabers out of pvc pipes ^_^

Ok so thanks for the idae of using a bedsheet and modifying it into a captain coat. But would any black pants work for the Cosplay?

You could....and I'm not quite sure how it would look on you, but you could buy a pair of black scrubs that are freakishly oversized for you to kind of give you the affect of the hakama. If you needed to, you might have to add in some elastic to the waist-line so that they don't fall off of your butt. :3
But that's just an idea, I guess.....oh! And any help on how to make a zanpaku'to?

Okay i'll try that thank you
For a zanpaku to you could either buy a wooden one off of ebay or i would buy some ply wood or other wood that is easy to work with. you would have to use some power tools to get the shape right but it also depends on which zanpakuto you are trying to make. Or you could try the foam way but im not sure exactly how to do that.
