If you are interested in being a part of our Cosplay Contest, please familiarize yourself with the following rules:
Cosplay Contest Rules
1. The contest will be limited to 40 entries. An entry may be either a single individual or a group of individuals.
2. Presentations and skits are limited to 2 minutes, for both individual and group entries. We will enforce skit times by turning off the microphones and lighting.
3. You may not participate in more than one skit.
4. Cosplayers are required to have their AZ badges with them to participate.
5. No nudity allowed - no costume is no costume. We reserve the right to insist on modifications to costumes.
6. Each group will have their skit introduced by the emcee. Please have your short description of your skit ready before you arrive at the cosplay preparation room Saturday night.
7. Audio tracks must be provided on a clearly labeled CD which contains only what needs to be played, no more, no less, in CDA (standard CD audio) format. This means no mp3, aac, wav, ogg, au, etc. formatted audio files. If in doubt, test your CD in a standard CD player. Flash cards, thumb drives and iPods will not be accepted. The CDs will not be returned after the contest. If you need to burn tunes to a CD, we may have blank CDs for sale in Con Ops or at the Cosplay preparation session.
8. You must provide the real names and badge numbers for all participants. You must verify the accuracy of the application forms before you go on stage.
9. No flashpots or explosive devices. No liquids or gels.
10. If you plan to carry a weapon, you must consult and conform to the AZ weapons policy.
11. Props will have to be carried on and off the stage by the contestants or with the help of one contestant-provided assistant.
12. Cosplayers will wait for their skit in a cosplay preparation room near the stage with nearby rest rooms. We will not have separate dressing rooms. Please be prepared to go on stage when you arrive.
13. An adult must accompany all contestants under the age of 16. The adult doesn't have to be on stage during the presentation or backstage ahead of time - just in the audience.
14. Contestants in the Junior category will perform before the rest of the contest begins and are considered separate from the main contest.
15. Cosplayers will return to the cosplay preparation room after they perform.
16. Animazement may tape or photograph contest entries at its discretion. Entry into this contest constitutes an agreement by the entrants to allow EGAO/Animazement to use their likeness/image, etc in any current/future advertisement, promotion, or product.
17. Green Room courtesy - There is an open doorway between the auditorium and the green room. Please show the performers the same respect that you want them to show you, and keep your volume down.
18. You must vacate the cosplay preparation room within 30 minutes of the close of the contest!
